Moredocofe Current Capacity
Capacity Development
Moredocofe has been aggressively investing in capacity building and market promotion which put the company on the springboard to leap to the next level of growth. The capacity building work was done on:
- Production capacity
- Processing capacity
- Warehousing
- Human resource development
- Logistics
Production capacity
Moredocofe has fully developed its own 440 hectares of coffee farm that would enable the company to produce close to 280 MT of coffee per year from its own farm alone. Moreover, our company has been working with more than 300 out-grower farmers on specialty coffee and 2 vertical integration partners. This would enable us to collect over 13 million red cherries annually which is close to 100 containers of green coffee for export.
Processing capacity
Over the last few years, Moredocofe has heavily invested in both primary and tertiary level processing capacity.
Primary level processing
Our company has established 4 wet processing industries with a capacity of 22 containers per site, 3 dry coffee processing sites with over 15 containers hulling capacity each. On top of that, Moredocofe is working with 2 processing sites that have processing capacity of 10 containers per site through vertical integration arrangements. Therefore, our annual processing capacity will range between 110 to 125 containers.
Tertiary level processing
Moredocofe has established an art-of-state coffee processing, grading and packing industry in Addis Ababa that has an annual capacity of 11,500 MT or 600 containers. Currently, the export processing industry will provide more than 50% service to other exporters as our export volume is not big enough.
Warehouse
Moredocofe has established 9 warehouses at the farm site area and 6 warehouses at Addis level for export coffee storage.
Human resource and capacity development
Moredocofe started its operation in 2006 with very few fulltime staff and part time advisors. Currently, the company employs over 150 permanent staff and between 2800 to 3500 seasonal workers every year.
The company managed to attract highly qualified professionals with years of hands-on experience in the sector. Hence, the company has got highly motivated staff and well experienced board of directors who strategically guide and oversee the work of the company.
